Columbia Police Department officers had been searching for Sims since Christmas week but could not find him. Police took in Taylor Wardlaw and charged him with accessory following the incident of murder related to Sims' death. Eddie Brown, 30, has been charged as an accomplice in the killing of the Columbia Police Department, officials confirm. Sims 26 last seen on Dec. 20 in Columbia on Ervin Street in Columbia. Police believe that Sims's girlfriend Wardlaw had reported him missing on December. 22. A body was discovered in the creek on Monticello Road Wednesday, and the Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford confirmed the body was the property of Sims. Skip Holbrook from Columbia Police reports that Wardlaw has been charged with murder of Sims and possessing weapons during the course of an incident. Police report that Sims died after being shot several times.
