AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9The 9 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club , and also helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and was one of the youngest players on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. She was the second player in the United States to score 20 goals and 21 assists in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring athlete in the nation to score 20 goals in one year. She was then named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
